To the car enthusiast, Carroll Shelby's version of the AC Cobra is simply a legend. Today, on the Barrett-Jackson's car auction, Carroll Shelby's personal 1966 Cobra with an 800 hp 427 sold for FIVE MILLION DOLLARS, setting a new record for the most expensive automobile ever sold.

Carroll Shelby on the stage as it was beginning bidding stated that he had been stopped in it in Nevada for doing 190 MPH. He also said he killed a buzzard in it once. And for anyone but Carroll Shelby, its a story I wouldn't believe.

The enthusiasm in the audience for the vehicle was an immense tribute to a legend in automobile manufacturing industry.
