In bemoaning the bizarre legal environment in the United States today, people often complain about lawyers.

But it took the moronic character of a jury to come up with a verdict this stupid. In a trial about the first bombing of the World Trade Center, the jury found that the Port Authority was 68 percent at fault for allowing the bombing to occur, while the terrorists who carried out the bombing were 32 percent responsible.

Nowhere but in a jury can you find 12 people less equipped to feed themselves.

So former FBI Director Louis Freeh has a new book coming out, and to publicize it he goes on 60 Minutes. There he tells his version of his attempts to get President Clinton to push the Saudis - specifically then-Crown Prince Abdullah - to give the FBI access to the suspects in the Khobar Towers bombing.

Freeh claims that President Clinton not only didn't press the Crown Prince but spoke sympathetically of Saudi refusal and asked for a donation to his Presidential Library.

Now I don't know if Freeh is correctly describing events or not. Obviously I despise Bill Clinton and this story fits my worldview. But who do the Clinton crowd find to deny this and call Louis Freeh a liar. You couldn't guess who they think is a credible witness.

Sandy "Magic Pants" Berger.

Some strong rebuttals to the claims that our training of the Iraqi military is unsuccessful.
