Iain Murray points us to this Lancet piece about a study of single-parent households in Sweden and effects on children. As Iain points out, the researchers try to blame the economic differences, but the money quote is: However, even when a wide range of demographic and socioeconomic circumstances are included in multivariate models, children of single parents still have increased risks of mortality, severe morbidity, and injury.
Fascinating article both in what it concludes and the way in which the authors try to both present the data and wish it away.
