Earlier in the year, I said that the best thing we could do for Iraqis was invade their country. Not merely because we would overthrow their fascist regime but because we would be putting a hundred thousand soldiers into their midst. Historically, American soldiers are like no other nations' soldiers and have a long history of great relations with occupied countries with few exceptions.Here, Adesnik makes some similar points while discussing a NYT story on how low ranking US Army officers are undertaking reconstruction efforts with success.
